VILLAGE FESTIVAL OF THE YEAR 2012
Shepley Spring Festival celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2017. West Yorkshire’s premiere weekend of traditional music, song and dance is a family friendly festival in the village of Shepley on the edge of the beautiful South Pennines. Taking place over 3 days the festival is based around a farmland site in the heart of this rural community. With over 50 concerts, workshops and street entertainment the event spills out into pubs and venues across the village. Artists from Britain and beyond will include Eliza Carthy and the Wayward band, Moulettes from Brighton, Nordic Fiddlers Bloc from Norway and the East Pointers from Prince Edward Island, Canada. O’Hooley and Tidow lead a cast of musicians from Yorkshire. With a community choir, dedicated children’s area and a beer tent with locally brewed real ales this festival is suitable for all ages and weekend camping is available adjacent to all the action.
